Sam Kaseta (he/him) is a queer, white, transmasculine composer and musician living in New York City.
After graduating Princeton cum laude with a BA in Music and certificates in German and Theater in 2015, Sam obtained his Masters in Music degree from NYU Steinhardt in 2019, where he studied concert composition with Caroline Shaw and Joan La Barbara. He has spent the past decade working in NYC as a freelance composer, music director, and sound designer. Some of the theaters he has worked with include HERE, A.R.T. NY, Soho Rep., Ars Nova, The Dramatists’ Guild, New Georges, Everyday Inferno, Prospect Theater Company, IRT, The Brick, Dixon Place, 23.5 Degree Tilt, Boomerang Theater Co., and many more. He has also been a music curator at The Tank NYC. Sam also does drag as Mr. Sam Bam Thankyoumaam, and does public performance art as The Trans Pope of Brooklyn.
Right now he’s working on a new ambient piano album (as a sequel to his first album, music for when you’re here), as well as working on developing his voice as an operatic bass.
